Thymosin Alpha-1
5mg · 10mg · 10-vial kits
A thymic peptide investigated in immune-modulation and T-cell research.
For research use only
Three of the four compounds here descend from work on thymic and innate-immune factors, and the fourth is a receptor story. Thymosin alpha-1 was isolated from thymosin fraction 5 and sequenced in the 1970s, part of the same effort that produced thymosin beta-4; Thymalin belongs to the Russian bioregulator programme and is a thymic peptide preparation rather than a single sequence. LL-37 is different in kind — it is the sole human cathelicidin, a 37-residue antimicrobial peptide cleaved from the hCAP18 precursor, and one of the few peptides here that is unambiguously part of a named human defence system. ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid sequence derived from the helix B region of erythropoietin, engineered to engage the innate repair receptor — a heterocomplex of the EPO receptor and CD131 — without the erythropoietic activity of EPO itself.
