✦ Research Notes

Background & literature

Origin

A co-formulation of two compounds that act on different receptors: CJC-1295, a GHRH-receptor analog developed by ConjuChem, and ipamorelin, a selective growth-hormone secretagogue described by Novo Nordisk researchers in 1998. The pairing is a supplier formulation; the combination itself has no independent discovery history or characterisation.

What has been characterised

The interest in pairing these two is mechanistic rather than empirical: they engage two separate receptor systems on the somatotroph — the GHRH receptor and the ghrelin/growth-hormone-secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a). Each is characterised independently in the literature cited under its own entry. No peer-reviewed work characterises this specific blend as a single entity. Neither constituent is FDA-approved for human use, and both classes appear on the WADA Prohibited List.
